JASON THIRD IN DENMARK
Australia’s Jason Crump completed a successful night of racing in Copenhagen
securing a third place podium position after a hard and nail biting
final.
Crump, arguably the gutsiest speedway rider in the world, clearly showed a return
to his best form by sweeping through the heats with four wins and backing it
up
with a win in his semi final.
But the double world champion was pushed wide on the first
turn of the final allowing Polish star Tomasz Gollob to slip up
the inside of all the riders and hold the lead to the finish line
taking his second Grand Prix of the year.
“First place would have been better, but I am pleased with
my performance tonight”, said Crump, a 16 time GP winner. “I rode
better tonight than I have for a long time and I had a good time
doing it. I made a very small and simple change to my machinery
and it made an amazing difference.”
