TOUGH START FOR CRUMP
With gates one and two producing 21 of the 23 races wins, it was the luck of the draw as Poland’s Tomasz Gollob, riding off gate one in
his last four rides went on to win in the rain effected meeting at Krsko, Slovenia last Saturday night.
For double World Champion Jason Crump, his gate draws saw him get the favoured gates in only two of his six rides so to muster a total
of 10 points on the night was hard work and a job well done but at the same time left the hard-charging Australian disappointed with his
result.
“I only managed two points from my first two rides so the going was tough right from the start, but I didn’t give up. I pulled in seven more
points from my next three rides and secured a place in the semifinals but getting gate three in the semi saw me eliminated after
finishing third.” said a dejected Crump who finished the night with a
creditable 10 World Championship points.
“Generally the track conditions will change throughout the meeting but on this occasion with rain interrupting the meeting; it made any
chance of winning from the outside gates impossible. Hopefully my draw for the next round is in my favour.”
Round two of the 2008 Speedway Grand Prix World Championship moves to Leszno in Poland on Saturday 10 May.
